Our new Perspective, “Integrating Technologies for Synthetic, Systems, and Spatial Approaches in Cancer Research,” is out in ACS Synthetic Biology!
The paper grew out of the National Cancer Institute‘s S3 Innovation Lab, which brought together scientists from diverse fields for an intensive week of brainstorming. A remarkable number of new ideas emerged from those few days, exploring how synthetic biology can join forces with systems and spatial approaches to study, diagnose, treat, and prevent cancer.
It was a fantastic experience to be part of this group! Big thanks to Karmella Haynes and Jeff Chuang for coordinating the paper, and to the entire team and the NCI S3 Innovation Lab organizers.
We’re looking forward to putting some of these ideas to work here at the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center!
