The Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund (MSCRF) awarded our lab an MSCRF Validation grant for the development of Cas9-RCs into in vivo gene therapies for congenital diseases of the brain and blood!
Our Cas9-RC editors aims to make precise genome restoration possible in pathogenic hotspots where other CRISPR editing approaches have been challenging. With this award, we’ll be advancing these tools toward their first translational applications.
Big thanks to MSCRF for supporting our science, and congratulations to the other UMSOM FY2027 awardees and collaborators Leo Parra-Rivas, Saima Riazuddin, and Mary Kay Lobo!
